Your Steady Guide

For A Mind As Strong As The Body

About Scheyden

Earlier in my career as an LMFT, I experienced firsthand how easy it is to appear capable and composed while quietly carrying the weight of trauma and chronic stress. While I looked well on the outside, the emotional demands of work, combined with high expectations and responsibility, made me feel tense, exhausted, and always on alert. I understood deeply how trauma can exist beneath the surface without ever looking like crisis.

That experience pushed me to seek a more effective and sustainable way of working with trauma. Through advanced training and consultation, I found the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM)—a trauma-focused approach that prioritizes nervous system safety by building strong internal and relational resources before processing traumatic material. CRM offered a structured, contained way to address trauma without overwhelming my body, and it fundamentally changed how I understand healing.

As a result, my work today is grounded, intentional, and effective. I support high-functioning adults and couples in moving out of survival mode and into greater clarity, emotional regulation, and connection. By integrating CRM for trauma and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for relationships, I help clients heal in a way that preserves their strengths while creating lasting relief—both individually and within their most important relationships.

Why Work With Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training in CRM for trauma treatment and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. My clinical experience includes working with high-functioning adults and couples who want effective, grounded therapy that respects their strengths while addressing the deeper patterns keeping them stuck. I approach trauma work thoughtfully and intentionally, ensuring therapy feels stabilizing rather than overwhelming.

My role is not to push you to relive the past, but to help you develop the internal and relational capacity to move out of survival mode. Whether we are working individually or as a couple, therapy focuses on creating safety, clarity, and meaningful change—so you can experience greater ease in both your inner world and your most important relationships.
